Georgia coach Kirby calls Gus Malzhan of Smart A Bern for ‘coachespeak’

ATHENS – Kirby Smart and Gus Malzhann may respect each other on the field as rival coaches, but they are like cats and dogs in their ongoing commentary.

Smart called the ub burn head coach for a “coachespeak” at a Georgia press conference Tuesday night, adding a spice to the already bitter and fighting rivalry between the Tigers and Bulldogs.

Georgia is “probably the most talented team in the SEC” to arrive at the game on Saturday evening at 7.30pm (TV: ESPN), Malzhan said at the start of his press conference on Tuesday.

Malzhn’s No. 7 ranked Tigers (1-0) is the touchdown end of No. 4 ranked Bulldogs (1-0).

Smart, who has always fought Malzah for recruitment in Georgia and Alabama, indicated that he did not consider Malzah’s comment to be sincere.

“I think if you ask someone during the week of a game, the team they play on has the most talent in the league, and the next week, that team will have the most talent, the next week, that team will have the most talent,” Smart Deadpend. “And he’s called CoachSpeak, so thanks to Gus. He has the most talent in the SEC.”

Smart, definitely surrounded, don’t make his point.

Asked how much Bern’s receivers cared for him, Smart threw Malzahan’s words back in the direction of the planes.

“Well, they have the most talent in the SEC, so I’m very concerned when I talk about their racing corps and their talent level,” Smart said.

“It always worries you when you play ubburn. They’ve got a quarterback who can get the ball to that guy, doing an incredible job of moving the Chad guys around and putting them in places so they aren’t normal, so their skill level on the receiver is really good. “

Smart praised Malzhan early in the week.

“I have a lot of respect for Gus [Malzahn] And the organization he has put together, ‘he said at a press conference on Monday. “They’ve recruited well, they have really good players, they have the top 10 teams in the country, so it should be a great ball game, great atmosphere.”

Smart felt that Malzah had gone out of his way to increase the pressure on Smart and the Bulldogs to win the SEC Championship.

It’s not the first time Malzhan has said something that annoyed Smart.

After the Tigers’ 170-1 win over the Bulldogs in 201 In, Malzhan said overhead, “We got the dog crepe out of it, didn’t we?”

Smart says ok if back then “WYou do it the way you did on the field, you get the right to really say what you want. “

Georgia avenged the loss in 2017 by beating Ub Burn in the SEC Championship Game.

But tensions remained, and with a 17-point lead in the 2018 meeting and a 3:20 left, Smart may or may not have played a role in the fake field goal attempt.

Smart, whose team was fighting for the College Ledge Football Foot .L playoff spot at the time and was at No. 5, said UGA made a fake attempt because the lead was not “comfortable”.

“If you don’t get it, they’ll be backed up, so thought they’d take three touchdowns to beat us,” Smart said. “It’s all about the point difference. It was something that was very well thought out before it happened during the drive and before we talked about it. “

Former Uran Burn linebacker and team captain Deshaun Davis called it a “bulk rap call” by Smart at the time.

Malzhan also pointed out in his Tuesday press conference that it was Ogburn who made the first rushing touchdown on Georgia last season during the Bulldogs’ 21-14 victory.

Malzhan, whose team led 21-0 in the fourth quarter, said his defense “fills them in the fourth quarter.”

Injury update: Smart said senior tight and graduate transfer tray MK Kitty returned to practice on Monday and will practice even more on Tuesday, raising the possibility that he will play against Ub Burn on Saturday.

“He’s coming in nicely, he’s got a chance to play, he’s one of the deals you want to get a little live action before you get out of the game, (and) I don’t know if we’re going to get a chance to do that. Smart said.

“But it’s definitely improved and it’s getting better.”

Smart said offensive guard Clay Webb suffered a leg injury, and that was what prevented him from traveling to Arkansas.

Coming out of the game, Smart suffered a shoulder infection from outside linebacker Jermaine Johnson, but was able to get back into action.

Bulldogs lost receiver Dominic Blalock (knee) and defensive back Kelly Ringo (Labrum) in the fall camp with season-end injuries.
