Gamescom 2020 Lineup: Xbox, Activision Blizzard, Ubisoft, and more

Gamescom has officially announced the lineup for this year’s virtual event, which includes a stacked list of developers and publishers numbering in the hundreds. After being forced to cancel this year’s annual event, the Gamescom organizer opted instead for a digital show.

A total of 354 official partners have been announced so far, including Xbox, Sega Europe, Ubisoft, Electronic Arts, Bethesda, Activision Blizzard, and more. Other marketing partners for Gamescom include PC hardware giant Nvidia, while social media titans YouTube, Twitch, and TikTok will also be present for the event. For the full list, you can click through to the official Gamescom website to see who’s coming. We’ll also be closing out all of Opening Night Live’s biggest Gamescom announcements, the two – hour stream that will kick – off the event and probably the most important source of news and will be.

It is not clear in what capacity the official partners will be present at Gamescom 2020 as the show begins several days with streaming content from August 27 to August 30. Opening Night Live is underway, with producer and host Geoff Keighley saying it will range from “indie stuff” to “next-gen stuff”, and the “biggest games in the world”. A sneak peek at season 2 of Mediatonic’s Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout will also be part of the show. It comes just a few weeks after the launch of the game on Steam and on PS4. On the latter system, it picked up more than 8 million players as a free PlayStation Plus title.

Ubisoft will be one of those companies that will show indie games, as the initiative Ubisoft Entrepreneurs will have several games from 13 Canadian and German studios to present at the Indie Arena Booth.
