Fox News host compares Trump boat parade to Spanish Armada – there’s only one problem

“The Spanish Armadas have nothing to do with Trump supporters.”

That’s Fox News host Pete Hegseth comparing the big boat parade of Trump supporters in Florida on Saturday to the Spanish Armada … which, incidentally, was crushed by the British in 1588.

Here is the clip:

The Spanish Armada was, according to History.com, a naval force of about 130 ships, manned by 8,000 sailors along with 18,000 soldiers and thousands of rifles, which set out to invade England.

Long story short, the so-called ‘Greatest and Happiest Navy’ returned to Spain in the autumn of 1588, after losing 60 of its ships and an estimated 15,000 casualties. It has long been remembered as “one of the great military blunders of history.”

Meanwhile, here are some more pictures of the Trump armada:

Trump’s presidency has yet to fall, but he finds himself haunted in recent polls. According to the latest NBC News / Wall Street Journal poll, Joe Biden leads Trump nationally by 9 points among registered voters, 50% to 41%. What’s more, the survey shows sen. Kamala Harris, Biden’s running mate, has a higher net personal rating than Trump or Biden.
