An all-star cast of Marvel characters has landed in the world of Fortnite for Chapter 2: Season 4.
A new launch trailer shows the likes of Iron Man, Groot, and Wolverine snatching from their own universes and splashing in battle royally central.
The Marvel crossover has introduced new superpowers to Fortnite – Great brings his bramble shield, the Silver Surfer’s board, and Doctor Doom’s arcane gloves. Iron Man offers the best of Stark Industries – an energy gun that, intriguingly, “has another advantage, depending on how you aim”. More amazing tools will appear later in the season.
New friendly matches from Marvel, and its allies in the Fortnite community, will be against Galactus, Devourer of Worlds. He introduces a “threat to Reality itself”, which must be pretty bad to register on an island that has a killer forcefield as part of its natural ecosystem.
Marvel-themed map additions include Doom’s Domain, Sentinel Graveyard, and the famous Avengers Helicarrier. The new Fortnite Chapter 2: Battle Pass of Season 4 also features many comic outfits over their 100 unlocked rewards.
Once you’ve bought the battle card, complete your special quest for Marvel’s legends and unlock ‘Wake Up’ – an emote that “lets the hero or villain shine”.
