Fortnite Birthday Event CANCELED? Mystery surrounds third birthday celebrations | Game | Entertainment

FORTNITE BIRTHDAY – UPDATE ONE: It looks like there won’t be a Fortnite birthday event this year.

Saturday July 25 marked the third birthday of the initial launch of Save the World, and in previous years Epic Games has marked this occasion by celebrating in-game festivities.

But this time there were no birthday challenges for Fortnite, nor was the Battle Bus equipped with any birthday outfits.

It remains to be seen if Epic Games decides to host a Fortnite 3rd birthday event later, but at the moment it doesn’t seem too promising.

ORIGINAL: Fortnite fans can pull out the party hats and cake as Epic Games’ hugely popular title celebrates its third birthday today.

On July 25, 2017, Save the World first launched in early access on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and macOS.

A few months later, the Fortnite Battle Royale free download launched in September, and the rest, as they say, is history.

For the past few years, Epic Games has chosen to celebrate Fortnite’s birthday in July, when StW launched, rather than the anniversary of the Battle Royale launch.

The date these birthday events were held has varied. The first birthday event took place on July 24, while the second birthday event was on July 25.

This year, July 24 came and went without any announcements about Fortnite’s third birthday festivities, so it appears that on July 25 we will see new content drop.

Fortnite’s birthday events in previous years have seen free content available and themed challenges are released.

So we’re likely to see the same thing again this year, with Fortnite’s birthday challenges, like the birthday cake task possibly coming back.

It looks like we’ve also seen the rewards for the Fortnite third birthday event ahead of its official launch.

And, from the looks of it, there will be a series of free rewards: the first will be a birthday cake with three candles on top.

The best reward for this year’s Fortnite birthday event seems to be a whole new look, however this will only be for Save the World players.

It remains to be seen what the rewards might be for possible incoming challenges, and whether there will be a third-birthday-themed spike.

Last year, during the Fortnite birthday event, there were themed challenges like dancing in front of different birthday cakes.

Completing individual challenges unlocked items like wraps, while the reward for completing all challenges was the Peak of Birthday Slice.

It remains to be seen when Epic Games could confirm whether Fortnite’s third birthday celebrations will launch today or not.

These announcements have generally been made before 3 p.m. UK time on Twitter, so it will be a good idea to keep an eye out for this news by then.

And in the meantime, to give you an idea of what to expect, this is what Epic Games did last year to commemorate Fortnite’s birthday …
