First declared leaks mentions launch framework, full open word, focus on next generation artificial intelligence systems, lighting, mod support and more


The first declared leak could include details on its range, weather system, mod support, launch frame, and more.

The next-gen first-person RPG was announced during last week’s Xbox X Series unveiling, but aside from the advancement of the game’s announcement, Obsidian Entertainment and Microsoft did not reveal many details about the Skyrim-like title. Fortunately, ResetEra user ‘Spronger’ has shared additional details about the upcoming title, which are being endorsed by reputable Xbox expert ‘Klobrille’.

Based on the new details, set in the The Living Lands region of Eora, Avowed will be a fully open world title. Compared to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, the Obsidian game will be much denser and more contrasting than the Bethesda title. Being a next-generation title, Obsidian is said to focus on next-generation global reactivity, enlightenment, and physics and AI systems.

Like Skyrim, Avowed will feature a weather system with a great focus on fog. The system in Avowed, however, will be in real time.

Modders will be happy to know that the Obsidian title will offer mod support and an advanced character creation tool, with the mods being fully usable on Xbox Series X as well.

A specific release date has yet to be provided, but based on these new details, Avowed is currently in full production and is targeting a launch in late 2022 / early 2023 on Xbox Series X and PC.

– in real time if the system (does not have full details but the fog is very important as a real time element, the rivers will have specific microphysics systems in this regard)
– very advanced character creation tool (did not get more information)
– mod support (for now PC is / will be very dominant as a creation tool, but will be fully playable on Xbox)
– a large number of fractions but a very different approach than with Skyrim
– you can have companions (different from the outer worlds)
– Storyset: fight against the threat of tyranny (independent of the previous stories)
– the game has bosses planned and some of them are very, very big
– The gods will have a special opinion in the game.
– Great focus on iconic landmarks, statues, and buildings.
– two large planned cities with many smaller ones with a strong focus on contrasting wilderness areas, rivers, mountains, and desolate areas (yes, you can swim)
– Fully respectful of POE creatures with new additions
