The highly anticipated book Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and Creating a Modern Royal Family, by longtime royal reporters Carolyn Durand and Omid Scobie, is out today. The book is a biographical account of the relationship between the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, her family, and the factors that led her to retire from the royal family.

In a statement to BuzzFeed News, a spokesman for the couple said: ‘The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were not interviewed and did not contribute to’ Finding Freedom ‘. This book is based on the authors ‘own experiences as members of the Royal Press Corps and their own independent reporting.’

BuzzFeed News has read through the book, which provides many new details of the couple’s life. Here are some of the most notable parts of the book.

Prince Harry stands and Meghan Markle announces her engagement on November 27, 2017.

On the day Harry and Meghan announced their engagement, Harry told the press that he knew she was the one for him, “the very first time we met.” Their romance. as described in Find freedom, supports this – but also describes how Harry reportedly got people out, including his brother, Prince William, for what he saw as a doubt about their relationship.

“When he first began to see her, Harry, sensitive to even the slightest hint of prejudice, had fallouts within his own tight circle,” according to the book. ‘When some asked his new relationship and whether it was suitable, he would ask himself,’ Is this about race? Is it snobbery? ” Harry is expected to cut an ‘old friend’ out of his life altogether after realizing that the friend had made ‘worthless comments’ about Meghan and her Hollywood background.

According to the book, Harry confronted his childhood friend Tom “Skippy” Inskip Harry in April 2017, saying he believed Harry “got into things” with Meghan and advised him to “be careful.” It was told that Harry was hurt by the words of his friend and the two did not speak for long. Although Skippy was invited to the wedding of Harry and Meghan and their official reception of the afternoon, he was deliberately removed from the list for the star-studded evening wedding, according to the book.

William also advised Harry to carry things with Meghan, which led to a rift in their relationship. The book states that the future king “did not know much” about his brother’s girlfriend and he wanted to make sure “Harry was not blinded by lust.”

Harry and Meghan published their proposed plan for their new life before it was approved by the Queen:

Find freedom states that when Harry and Meghan started working out the details of their plan to step down as senior royals, they hired a PR and design team to help them set up a new official website because they were afraid were that the information would leak if they involved anyone from the palace press teams.

The website, SussexRoyal.com, outlined the couple’s proposed plans for their new life – ideas they had not yet submitted to Queen and Prince Charles for approval. According to the book, Harry had been trying for weeks to set up a meeting with his parents. Although they were not aware of the specifications, the senior royals knew that Harry and Meghan wanted to propose a plan to step back from life as senior royals. The various palace press teams apparently worked on a joint statement announcing the start of this process when news of their plans leaked to the tabloid, The sun.

According to Find freedom, it was not so much that Harry and Meghan decided on their own to announce their desire to step down from their roles as senior royals that blind the family, but at the same time decided to launch their website “which details their new half-laid-in half-out model as if it were a done deal. ”

According to Find freedom, Meghan and sister-in-law Kate are “not only the best of friends”, but also “not at war with each other”, and that their relationship “had trouble getting past the distant politeness of when they first met.”

“Her relationship hadn’t progressed much since she was Harry’s girlfriend,” the book states. ‘Although Meghan may have understood Kate’s warning to strike up a meaningful friendship, they were still nowhere near the time she was a colleague, working member of the royal family and the wife of William’s brother. Flowers for her birthday were fun, but Meghan would have far preferred that Kate had inquired about her during the most difficult times with the press. ”

Anecdotal, Find freedom also states that the infamous tabloid story about Meghan making Kate cry during Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaid dress for the wedding is not true.

There are “steamy” paparazzi photos of Harry and Meghan that have never seen the light of day:

In March 2017, Harry and Meghan flew to Jamaica for the wedding of one of his closest childhood friends. ‘Although the resort where the wedding would take place for the three days of the celebrations was closed, a paparazzo managed to find his way on site to take pictures of Harry and Meghan.

According to the book, the photographer was “thrown right out of the resort, but not before getting the couple in a steamy embrace on their private balcony,” like Harry and Meghan in their bathing suits.

Harry, told “apoplexy” angrily, ordered Buckingham Palace’s press team to make sure the balcony photos were never published – and although Meghan and Harry’s snaps on the beach soon appeared for sale, the balcony photos were never seen.

Harry and Meghan told the royal family that she was pregnant at Princess Eugenie’s wedding:

The Sussexes publicly announced their pregnancy on October 15, 2018, in a statement timed to coincide with the start of their 16-day royal tour through Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, and Tonga. According to Find freedom, the couple shared the good news with members of the royal family three days earlier – at the wedding of Harry’s cousin, Princess Eugenie, to Jack Brooksbank.

“It did not go particularly well with Eugenie, who told a source that friends told that she felt the couple had been waiting to share the news,” the book states.

Thomas Markle is no longer a part of Harry and Meghan’s life:

Over more than two chapters, Find freedom goes into great detail about the break-up of Meghan’s relationship with her father and everything that happened in the run-up to her wedding, which he did not attend.

Now, two years later, the book says, Meghan no longer recognizes Markle as “the man who raised her.”

According to Find freedom, when Archie was born, Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland texted her ex-husband to tell him the news. “[Meghan] did not want him to invent to the rest of the world. But she did not want to know if her father responded to her mother’s text, ‘the book states.

Harry and Meghan dismissed an uncle:

When Meghan’s mother Doria returned to Los Angeles a month after Archie’s birth, Harry and Meghan hired a cousin to help them take care of their son. According to the book, however, she fired herself in the middle of her second night to work for her for ‘unprofessional and irresponsible’.

Although the book does not detail what happened, the incident destroyed Harry and Meghan to such an extent that they did not trust anyone next to themselves to take care of their son at night. She ended up hiring a grandmother to help her during the day and even took on the night guards.

Harry had a fight with the Queen’s dressage for the royal wedding because he believed she was snobbing Meghan:

Find freedom claims that the tabloid stories about Meghan throwing a fit about not being able to wear a particular tiara for her wedding are false, but writes that used to be some tiara drama at the wedding of weddings … with Harry.

According to the book, it was reported that Meghan could not set a time to visit Buckingham Palace with her NYC-based hairstylist so she could do a trial of her wedding day hair with the tiara she would wear. Find freedom states that after weeks of no reaction from the palace, Harry had a heated confrontation with Angela Kelly, the Queen’s personal assistant and wardrobe / jewelry curator, accusing her of deliberately ignoring Meghan. ‘He probably had to talk to his grandmother to set up a time for Meghan to try out the tiara.

The royal family give each other really great Christmas gifts:

It has been widely reported for years that the royal family is exchanging Christmas presents on Dec. 24, a mark of the German roots of the House of Windsor. Although it has also been reported that the adult members of the royal family do not exchange expensive gifts, Find freedom gives some more detail about the types of gifts that are among the royals gift.

In Christmas’s past, Harry reported that the Queen’s a shower cap emblazoned with the phrase ‘Ain’t Life a Bitch’, which she loved ‘and a’ Big Mouth Billy Bass song that said to sit proudly in Balmoral, her Scottish retreat, and provide the queen with great laughter. ”

According to the book, on a previous Christmas, Kate played the then single Harry in a “Grow Your Own Girlfriend” on one occasion.
