United States Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Stephen Hahn declined to endorse Donald Trump’s claim that 99 percent of Covid-19 cases in the United States are “totally harmless,” a Even though the data shows that the virus is still a “serious problem”.

“We know that cases are emerging in the country,” said Hahn, despite being asked intentionally by CNNDana Bash will respond to the president’s latest complaint about the mild effects of most coronavirus cases.

“We have all seen the charts associated with that, and it is too early, and I am not going to speculate on what is causing it,” Hahn said.

Ms. Bash went on to suggest that the statistics from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that Trump was referring to do not tell the full story of coronavirus patients. She then asked Hahn if Trump’s statement during her speech was incorrect.

“I’m not going to go into who is right and who is wrong,” said Hahn.

“What I am going to say … is what I said before, which is a serious problem that we have. We have seen this increase in cases. We must do something to stop the tide,” he said, referring to the recent increase in cases in various states, especially the ones that broke for Trump in the 2016 presidential election.

Trump voiced his claim about the relative safety of the coronavirus on Saturday during a speech celebrating United States Independence Day on Saturday.

“We have now examined nearly 40 million people … In doing so, we are showing cases where 99 percent are completely harmless,” the president said.

ABC News Anchor Martha Raddatz asked similar questions to Hahn on Sunday, who also declined to answer directly.

“How many cases would you say are harmless?” Raddatz asked.

“You know, in any case, we don’t want to have in this country. This is a very fast epidemic, a fast-moving pandemic. And any death, any case is tragic. And we want to do everything we can to avoid that, ”said Hahn.
