Dallas has been hit hard by a series of positive tests for COVID-19. CDF arrived in the Orlando area on June 27, and earlier this week it was confirmed that 10 members of its delegation, nine players and a coach, tested positive for COVID-19.

The team has been in quarantine since then, preventing them from training. Dallas-based outlet 3rdDegree.net reported Friday night that a tenth player, and eleventh member of the overall delegation, also tested positive, reducing the number of uninfected players to 18.

Vancouver was originally scheduled to arrive on July 1, but the team’s departure was delayed due to two inconclusive tests for COVID-19 during the pre-trip evaluation. Subsequent test results were confirmed to be negative and the club will depart for Orlando on Monday, July 6.

The game was originally scheduled for July 9, but the MLS said in a statement: “The later date of the game will allow both teams additional training days in Orlando before their first game.”

Both teams will now play their first MLS games in the Returning Tournament on July 15, as FC Dallas will face Seattle Sounders FC at 9 am ET (ESPN, ESPN Deportes, TSN) and Vancouver Whitecaps FC will face the San Jose Earthquakes at 10:30 pm ET (TUDN, TSN).
