Fans discover Super Mario’s anniversary Twitter account, potentially linked to Nintendo

Fans have discovered a social media account potentially registered by Nintendo “href =” https://www.videogameschronicle.com/platforms/nintendo/ “> Nintendo in preparation for its Super Mario Bros. 35th Anniversary plans.

As VGC reader Júlio Rodrigo pointed out, the @ SuperMario35 account was registered earlier this year and has a recovery email that could be used by the Nintendo.co.jp domain.

However, it’s worth noting that the account’s March registration date aligns with the release of VGC’s Mario remastering report, and since the related email is largely redacted, it’s not sure if it’s the Japanese domain from Nintendo.

Earlier this year, VGC reported that Nintendo planned to celebrate Super Mario Bros. ’35th anniversary with several major releases, new and old.

Sources indicated that as part of their anniversary celebrations, Nintendo would reveal plans to relaunch most of Super Mario’s 35-year catalog this year, remastered for Nintendo Switch, including Super Mario 64 from 1996, Super Mario Sunshine from 2002 and 2007 Super Mario Galaxy.

Nintendo also planned to release other Mario titles in 2020, we were told, including a Deluxe version of 2013’s Super Mario 3D World and a new installment in the Paper Mario series (later officially revealed as The Origami King).

Nintendo has already unveiled two flagship license agreements planned to mark the anniversary: a special interactive Lego Mario set and a range of Uniqlo clothing, the latter of which is specifically marked for Super Mario Bros. ’35th anniversary.

Nintendo last celebrated a milestone on Mario’s anniversary with the ’30 seriesth anniversary in 2015.

The company celebrated the occasion with various events and products, including two 8-bit special edition Mario Amiibos. That year’s celebrations culminated with the release of Super Mario Maker for Wii U “href =” https://www.videogameschronicle.com/platforms/nintendo/wiiu/ “> Wii U in September 2015.

Nintendo’s marketing plans have been significantly affected this year due to the pandemic. The company did not hold its traditional Nintendo Direct “href =” https://www.videogameschronicle.com/events/e3/e3-2019/nintendo-direct/ “> Nintendo Direct and currently only has a first-person game publicly announced for the rest of the year.

According to a prominent person’s claims, Nintendo could make its first full direct stream in nearly a year this month.
