Fans choose ‘Daylight’ by Diplo and Joji as this week’s favorite new music

Diplo and Joji’s new song “Daylight” has this new music game on top this week.

Music fans voted in an interview that appeared Friday (August 7) Billboard, to choose the latest single from Joji’s upcoming album, Nectar, as her favorite new music release from last week.

In the music video for their new collaboration track, Diplo and Joji work behind the scenes on a video game for an older boy band. The couple is plagued by a highly tanned, waxed and demanding director before breaking into the wardrobe department and putting an innocent kind of destruction on the set.

“Daylight” garnered 42% of the vote this week, beating new Cardi B music featuring Megan Thee Stallion (“WAP”), Juice WRLD with The Weeknd (“Smile”) and Doja Cat (“Freak”).

Joji’s Nectar is scheduled for release on September 25 via 88rising, with distribution by 12Tone Music.

Coming in second place in this week’s poll with 26% of the vote was Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s wet-and-wild collaboration “WAP.” The music video for the new track featured comos by Normani, Mulatto, Sukihana and others.

“WAP”, sampled by Frank Ski’s’ Whores in This House ‘, finally pays homage to Lil’ Kim, down to her iconic squats, colored wigs that match the set, hair designs, and tip pastes, such as’ hip ‘ hop stylist Misa Hylton, who played an instrumental role in bringing out Lil ‘Kim’s looks.

Third place in this week’s poll was the “other” category, which stood at 16% of the vote, followed by Juice WRLD and The Weekend in fourth with 7%.
