90 promised day Fans know Asuelu Pulaa for her kind and carefree personality. But viewers saw another side of him in the July 5 episode of 90 day fiancé: happily ever after?
At one point in the show, Pulaa had an argument with Faagata that grew warmer as time went on. In the middle of the round trip, he started yelling at his wife and even cursed her, causing a wave of reactions on social media.
Asuelu Pulaa and Kalani Faagata’s relationship
The couple met in 2016 when Faagata was on vacation in Pulaa’s native Samoa. Pulaa had been working in the complex where Faagata stayed when they crossed paths and they liked each other.
Faagata began traveling to the country more and more to see Pulaa and soon became pregnant with their son, Oliver, who was born in late 2018. After settling in Utah, the couple married and had another son, Kennedy, in 2019.
Asuelu Pulaa and Kalani Faagata have met in the program
Faagata has often complained that Pulaa does not help her enough at home, especially when it comes to her children. Meanwhile, Pulaa tends to growl at Faagata’s parents who live with them.
Pulaa has been even more agitated because he wants to visit his home with his family, but Kalani has refused due to a measles outbreak in Samoa. Instead, they decided to take a trip to California, but tensions arose during the car trip.
When Oliver started crying, Pulaa moved to comfort him before commenting on how “easy” it is to take care of him. When asked if he thought all women’s jobs were easy or just his wife’s, he said, “Women’s work.”
The comment clearly irritated Faagata, but Pulaa was not finished. She went on to say that American women have it easier because they have machines to do everything, while Samoan women are more traditional and do things without complaint.
Faagata then called him for not helping with his children anymore, which made him call her a “liar”. She also criticized the sound of her voice, calling it “very annoying”. The situation calmed down when Faagata’s mother got involved, but the couple fought again when they reached their destination. Faagata called Pulaa a “manipulator” but did not want to hear any of her “expensive words” and left.
Reactions to Asuelu Pulaa’s argument with Kalani Faagata
Twitter users were extremely critical of the argument. One fan seemed totally shocked by it, sharing a tweet that said, “Asuelu actually verbally abused Kalani for ten minutes straight, culminating in him calling her a liar … I’m about to stop by my TV and hit her f * cking at **. “Another argued:” Asuelu is a real job. And by that, I mean it is real sexist shit, “while a third fan said,” This scene with Kalani and Asuelu makes me want to get out of the car and I’m not even in the car. “
But others were not so quick to judge.
Someone else noted: “The boy was raised in Samoa, a remote island nation with a population of less than 200,000. You don’t know anything about the real world. She went there, a virgin, met him, became pregnant, and then brought him to the United States. Is it any wonder she has no idea? They are both completely crazy. ”
Another fan repeated that, writing: “She annoys me because she KNOWs the cultural difference as the brother he grew up in Samoa, where things are different. YOU decided to have TWO babies with her and NOW you decide to teach her and make her understand YOUR VALUES! Give me a break.”
Oof well stay tuned to 90 day fiancé: happily ever after? to see what happens from here.
