Fan Creates Exceptional Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Stage After Paper Mario: The Origami King Launch

Paper Mario: The Origami King is the latest entry in the beloved franchise and it launched last Friday, July 17. The reception of the new title seems positive, and many fans are being struck with nostalgia as they see the return of the popular plumber in the flat world, 2D.

Shortly after the official launch of Origami King, a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate user named Curry Hiro took up a stage with the Paper Mario theme that looks absolutely fantastic. “In honor of the new release of the Paper Mario game!” Read the title of this stunning backdrop.

The stage launched on July 18 and features an incredibly accurate representation of the game’s protagonist. Mario can be seen shooting one of his classic peace signs against a backdrop derived from the aesthetics of the series.

This battlefield can hold up to four players, and the platform that the fighters fight on is a mix of green and brown and is designed to stay with the Paper Mario motif.

While the stage images deserve to be appreciated, one thing I also admire is the style of the platform itself. Often, with intricate stages created, the amount of detail going into them can make them less than ideal to actually play.

At this stage, however, the platform is not too extreme, being primarily a flat surface with a couple of small hills. If you want to download this stage and run legitimate sets against your friends, you can do so.
