Fall Guys have already fallen victim to players who have found ways to cheat their way to those crowns. Players have already learned how to overcome obstacles and defeat other players in the wacky mini-game-filled battle generosity. However, it turned out that things could get better, with the developer promising that there were already far fewer cheaters in the game.
“Pathetic isn’t it?” said Redditor Beard_Of_Serpico in the Fall Guys subreddit. “Defeat in one of the most casual, kid-friendly games ever. This is why we can not have fun things.”
The UK-based studio Mediatonic launched the battle generously on August 4 and experienced server problems after more than 2 million players signed up for the game in the first week via Steam Since then, like many other online multiplayer games, players have found ways to slam into walls, run faster and drive to gain a certain unfair advantage in certain mini-games.
“We are working as fast as we can to address this issue in the game,” Mediatonic told GameSpot via email. “Cheating and other hacks to improve performance take away from everyone’s enjoyment and we are actively working to address this now.”
Players believe that cheaters use third-party software to manipulate their characters’ in-game positions. “There are already existing programs capable of flying, teleporting and hacking players that anyone can now go and download,” said Redditor Raging_Rob. “The number of cheaters will only increase as word gets around.”
There is no way to report cheaters in game, but Mediatonic advises players to report them in their Discord channel or via the Fall Guys subreddit. The developer added on August 11 that it has improved its own detection criteria and now even without reporting players, they are seeing their substantial decline.
It is no longer necessary to report individual cheaters, because we have adjusted our detection criteria, we have noticed a large drop in cheaters – getting better! 🙌
A big thank you to everyone who played the game honestly, you are all great, and we love you! ❤️ pic.twitter.com/lPZJVBjzIm– Fall Guys 👑 (@FallGuysGame) 11 August 2020
GameSpots’s Alessandro Barbosa enjoyed his time playing Fall Guys and his variety of mini-games. “With its short gameplay and easy-to-understand mechanics, Fall Guys is easily the most approachable and hospitable battle generous yet,” he said in the GameSpot review. “The bursting color and varied game modes do a good job of keeping an eye on you and keeping an eye on you, even if a handful of feelings conflict with the easy nature of its premise.”
