TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – With the third phase of international clinical trials underway for several COVID-19 vaccines developed by Chinese researchers, pre-sales of the vaccines have begun in China, paying US $ 215 for a vaccine scheme of three shots.

Chinese media have reported instances of people displaying coronavirus vaccines on WeChat and only accepting advanced payment. The promotional items appear to have been photos posted on the official websites of the fax developers.

One of the images shows an unopened package with Sinovac’s vaccine candidate, Coronavac, which was developed by Beijing-based SVA-Sinovac Biotech. The company is listed on Nasdaq as SVA, and its COVID-19 vaccine is undergoing its definitive clinical trial in Brazil and Indonesia.

There are also reports of individuals using messaging apps to sell a vaccine presumably developed by the Wuhan Institute of Biological Products, which is also conducting phase three clinical trials for its vaccine candidate in abroad.

The two companies each issued a statement on Thursday (August 13), claiming that their faxes have reached the final testing phase, but have not yet been officially launched. The rulings condemned the prejudices as scams.

Companies and institutions around the world are in a hurry to develop a vaccine for coronavirus. Currently, China, the United States, and Russia are leading the race, while Taiwan’s vaccine for coronavirus recently tested the obstacle test for animals.
