In an exclusive conversation, Mukesh Chhabra reveals how Sushant Singh Rajput was aware that Dil Bechara was released online and also shared a similar opinion on its release. He also shares that Sushant watched the movie while doubling but couldn’t see the final cut; see more in the video inside.
Sushant Singh Rajput’s death has sparked much debate in Bollywood. While fans have been calling for a CBI investigation into the actor’s death, many are also upset that his latest film, Dil Bechara, was not released in theaters. Nation, theaters have been closed since March, and there is absolutely no clarity on when shopping for multiplexes will resume. In such a scenario, Fox Star Studios, which supports the protagonist of Sushant Singh Rajput and Sanjana Sanghi, decided to launch the film online and make it available to everyone, digitally.
As the movie hits the OTT platform on July 24 (next Friday), in conversation with us, Mukesh Chhabra exclusively told us that Sushant had already seen a rough cut of the movie. The filmmaker shares: “I had seen the film during the dubbing. I was very excited. He couldn’t see the final cut, which is unfortunate. But he was happy and we were discussing how to market the film.”

There has been a huge furor on social media where fans wanted the film’s creators to release it in theaters, just as a tribute to SSR. Some fans have also expressed disappointment at the release of the movie online. But Mukesh claims that Sushant was also of the same opinion as the team for putting Dil Bechara on the web. “I was aware of the movie that was released online. He also felt that this is the best time to release the movie digitally because everyone will be able to see it. No one knows when the theaters will open, and Sushant knew that too. He was happy with the decision as well.” , the director signed.
