A former Trump administration official who endorsed Joe Biden and called the president “terrible” has claimed that the White House is now trying to “dig up dirt” on him, according to a report.

Miles Taylor, former chief of staff of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) under Kirstjen Nielsen, became one of the highest-ranking officials of the former administration to support Donald Trump’s rival on Monday.

After the signing, on Tuesday, Mr. Taylor claimed in an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper that a White House contact was told to “dig up dirt” on him.

‘I just reported in the past hour that a liaison employee of the White House at the department has been forced to go round to dig up my dirt. Well, look, I’m fine. I can handle it, ”Mr Taylor told the broadcaster.

“But here’s the point: the administration, within hours of me talking about it, is already using taxpayer dollars for political purposes at the department. That just shows you that they can not break out of this cycle, “he added.

The White House did not respond immediately The Independent’s request for comment.

The allegations follow Mr Taylor’s appearance in a video for Republican voters against Trump and an op-ed in The Washington Post on Monday, where he launched horrific attacks on the president and endorsed Mr Biden.

“What we saw week in and week out, and for me, after two and a half years in that administration, was horrible,” Mr Taylor, a longtime Republican, said in the video.

‘We would go in to talk to him about an urgent national security issue – cyberattack, threat of terrorism – he was not interested in those things. For him, they were not priorities. ”

Mr. Taylor claimed that the president wanted the practice of ‘re-separating children from their families on the US-Mexico border after ending the widespread strategy in 2018, under a number of accusations.

He added: “Given what I have experienced in the administration, I must support Mr Biden for President, and although I am not a Democrat, although I do not agree on important issues, I am sure Mr Biden will country will protect and I’m sure he’s not making the same mistakes as this president. “

Mr. Trump retaliated against the remarks after the first night of the Democratic National Convention, calling Mr. Taylor a ‘dissatisfied employee’ and insisting that he had never heard from him, despite his senior position and the existence of photos of her. together.

“Many thousands of people work for our government,” the president wrote on Twitter.

With that said, a former DISGRUNTLED EMPLOYEE named Miles Taylor, who I do not know (have never heard of him), said he left and sat on the open arms Fake News circuit. Said to be a real ‘stiff’. They will take everyone up against us! ”

The former DHS official is among several high-profile former administration officials who have publicly nominated the president.

Anthony Scaramucci, who briefly served as director of communications for the White House, has endorsed the Democratic nomination.

Former National Security Chief John Bolton has said he will not vote for Mr Trump or Mr Biden.
