Ex-Red Sox Brock Holt nominated for commission by Brewers

Former Boston Red Sox handyman Brock Holt has been named by the Milwaukee Brewers, the team announced Saturday.

Holt, a fan favorite and two-time World Series champion in Boston, signed a $ 3.25 million one-year contract with Milwaukee in February.

Holt has struggled through 16 games played this season with the Brewers. The 32-year-old veteran has just hit .100 (3-for-30) with no home points, one RBI, and a .222 base percentage.

To add insult to injury for Holt, he was hilariously roasted by his son Griff to the DFA:

Ouch!

With Holt on the market, Red Sox fans may be wondering if a return to Boston is in order. Given the addition of Sox’s offensive season player Jose Peraza, who was signed to replace Holt, there does not seem to be a fit for the former All-Star. Of course, anything can happen with the August 31 deadline.

Holt hit a career-high .297 with three homers and 31 RBI with the Red Sox in 2019.
