Ex-NFL player Jack Brewer ‘fed up’ with media calling Trump a racist

Former NFL player Jack Brewer accused the media of falsely portraying President Trump as a racist while ignoring his contributions to the Black community while speaking at the Republican National Convention in Charlotte on Wednesday night.

“I know what racism looks like, I’ve seen it first hand,” Brewer said. “America, it has no agreement with President Trump. I’m tired of the way he’s portrayed in the media, who refuse to acknowledge what he’s actually done for the Black community. It confuses the minds of our innocent children. ”

Brewer is a leading supporter of the president and member of Black Voices for Trump. He cites the president’s record on criminal law reform, including the 2018 passage of the First Step Act, a bilingual initiative aimed at reducing the federal population of prisoners and lowering sentences for low-level criminals.

Brewer also targeted Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden and advised Kamala Harris, questioning her criminal justice and warning that a vote for her school choices would restrict less deserving communities.

“At some point, for the sake of our children, policies need to take precedence over personalities,” Brewer said. “That’s because you’re having a problem with President Trump’s tone, will you allow Biden and Harris to deny our score for black and brown children? Are we so offended by the slogan of the campaign’s campaign? President ‘Make America Great Again’ that we ignore the fact that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have been collectively responsible for incarcerating countless Black men for non-violent crimes? ”

Brewer spent five seasons in the NFL before entering the business world. His status as a speaker at the Republican National Convention was just minutes before the event began to doubt.

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filed civil insider trading charges against Brewer, NPR reported earlier this week. He is accused of selling 100,000 shares of a penny stock after obtaining information that suggested the price would soon fall.

Brouwer has not yet commented on the allegations. The SEC is seeking financial damages and the implementation of a permanent ban on Brewer “to participate in any offering of a penny stock.”
