Crafting has been confirmed by Respawn Entertainment as a new in-game mechanic coming to Apex Legends for season 6. Here, we break down everything we know so far, from the time it comes to the items you the players might be able to make.
Apex Legends has kept itself unique from other battle royals, as players to this day are unable to build or create various items as they run in games.
However, when the Season 6: Boosted trailer was revealed by Respawn, their accompanying blog post raised a few eyebrows because it contained the phrase ‘Crafting’.
If speculations have run a bit wild about what this might mean, here is everything you need to know about Crafting in Apex Legends.
When will Crafting come to Apex Legends?
Crafting has been confirmed as arriving at Apex Legends for Season 6, and fans can expect it to launch as the season itself does.
Season 6 is set to begin on August 18th. The update is likely to be huge, given the plethora of new content coming, including Rampart, the latest in the game’s legend.
How will Crafting work in Apex Legends?
At present, it is not entirely clear. The new mechanic was plagued with the line: “Do not like your gear? Collect materials around the map and build something better!”
It certainly does not sound like players can fortnite shortcuts to build their circuit on the map. However, it sounds like players can collect items on the map – both new and existing items – and combine to create better items.
For example, a player could collect two common armor, and make them into a rare armor. It is not clear if this will be a possible craft, but this example should give you an idea of how it is expected to work.
What remains less clear is when there will be new items to make together. For example, Respawn will introduce armor fragments (or something like that), as opposed to using existing items and creating them together. We’ll have to wait and see.
What can you do in Apex Legends?
Finally, we will look at items that players are likely to create. It seems likely that many of the existing items are artisanal.
This means that Armor, Helmets, Shield Cells, Phoenix Kits, Knockdown Shields, Backpacks and much more could all be accessed via Crafting. Assuming it works as above, we could see much rarer variations of these items on the map.
While much remains unclear at this time, we are sure to get more details and information as Release 6 approaches.
