I usually roll my eyes at aggressively shaken teaser photos, but unnf get a load of the new BMW M3 The back quarter of Touring! The chiseled edges, that quad exhaustion! How difficult is it to move back to Europe?

BMW has not officially confirmed or denied which brands the upcoming M3 Touring (wagon) will be sold in (I will update this post as the company reps enlighten me), but I have a feeling we will not see it.

Then again, although true wagons are not popular here, cars with high horsepower are, that it is not entirely out of the realm of possibility that BMW would decide that there is room to sell an M3 long-roof, although the standard 3-Series Touring is sun set over here.

However, details are still far too poor than what you can see in the teaser photo above, confirmation of the six-cylinder M TwinPower turbo engine, and a cage press release of the Bavarian motorist. Here is the statement of “it’s official” though:

Together with the brand new BMW M4 Coupe, the new BMW M3 Sedan will celebrate its world premiere in September 2020. It is also no secret that the new edition of the BMW M4 Convertible will follow next year. However, driven observers may soon get a glimpse of the prototype of a new high-performance car. In Garching near Munich, home of the BMW M GmbH, work is being carried out on a further dream-come-true: for the first time in the history of the BMW M GmbH, the model will be complemented by a BMW M3 Touring.

And here’s a little passage about when the car might hit the road:

The first BMW M3 Touring is still in its early stages. two-year development process for series. As in the case of other BMW M high-performance sports cars, the following also applies to the BMW M3 Touring: Whether the prototype has been given the go-ahead for test rides on public roads, it means that the decisive step towards series has been taken. Not only that, it will soon be seen regularly. As with all other BMW M models, the intensive testing and tuning process for the BMW M3 Touring will take place on the Nordschleife of the Nürburgring, because the first BMW M3 Touring is, in fact, first and foremost a BMW M3.

Again, based on what I have seen so far, I think this car is limited to European roads. But anything is possible with enough currency.
