Ole Gunnar Solskjaer travels to Everton this weekend knowing he must stop the rot at Manchester United, having lost back-to-back matches and seeing the club ranked 15th in the Premier League.

Reports emerged this week that Solskjaer would be fired from United’s hot seat after a disappointing start to the season if he lost to high-flying Everton.

And if he did, history is not on his side for what happens next.

David Moyes, who replaced Sir Alex Ferguson in 2013, was fired after just 10 months in charge of having lost at Everton, the club he left for the Red Devils, at Goodison Park.

He even had a famous fan dressed as a Grim Reaper watching him from the front row of the stands.
