Sony Interactive Entertainment unveiled the updated PlayStation app on Wednesday, which includes a new design, voice chat support, and messaging integration. The updated app is designed to “enhance your gaming experiences on both PS4 and PS5“read a blog post about the update.

Players who want to access the updated application but have not yet installed it will need a PlayStation Network account and can register for it through the PlayStation site.
Key updates to the app include a sleeker interface, as well as a new home screen that shows which friends are playing and allows users to access the details of recently played games. The PS Messages app feature is now integrated into the new PS app, so players can message their friends from one place. Since PS Messages will no longer be available as a standalone application, existing messages and threads will be moved to the PS application.
Users can also create party groups and voice chats with up to 15 other people. A new native PS Store feature allows customers to browse and shop quickly, allowing them to download games and add-ons remotely to their PS4 and PS5. Y when the PS5 is available, users can remotely launch games, manage console storage, and log into PS5 from the PS app.
The PlayStation 5 launch, which starts at $ 400 and starts shipping on November 12, has been long awaited. Some of the games players will be able to purchase on launch day include Spider-Man: Miles Morales Y Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
