Most of the publisher’s upcoming titles to be released on current-generation hardware will benefit from a free update.
Ubisoft detailed next-gen updates its games will benefit from on Xbox Series X | S and PS5.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Immortals Fenyx Rising, Far Cry 6 and Riders Republic will run in 4K resolution at 60 frames per second on Xbox Series X and PS5, the publisher said. Rainbow Six Siege will receive an update that will allow 120 frames per second in 4K.
Players who purchase PS4 or Xbox One copies of Watch Dogs: Legion, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Immortals Fenyx Rising, Far Cry 6, Riders Republic, and Rainbow Six Siege will be able to upgrade their copy to next-gen hardware at no additional cost.
A couple of titles, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Immortals Fenyx Rising, will also benefit from cross-progression through Ubisoft Connect, which means that game saves will be stored in the cloud and allow you to play on any device. These two titles also seem to be taking advantage of the spatial audio technology of the new consoles.
Faster loading times compared to the previous generation are mentioned for almost all titles on both Xbox and PS5 devices, thanks to its high-speed SSD.
It appears that some Ubisoft games have also been designed to make use of haptic feedback from the PS5 controller, including Immortals Fenyx Rising and Watch Dogs: Legion. The latter will also benefit from ray tracing on Xbox Series X | S and PS5.
Immortals Fenyx Rising and Riders Republic will also be HDR compatible.
Finally, Ubisoft pointed out that Just Dance 2021 will be compatible with the new consoles, but will not benefit from specific updates.
