Travis Scott is having a good year and shows no signs of slowing down with his brand partnerships.
Following the success of Travis Scott Meal at McDonald’s earlier this year, the rapper has partnered with Sony for a “multi-level creative collaboration” ahead of the PlayStation 5 launch on November 12, according to a press release from the team of Scott.
To kick off the creative collaboration, Scott posted a video on his Instagram and Twitter page showing him sitting in a chair in front of a sound system and a television and booting up a PS5. Scott tweeted the video with the phrase “TS5”.
The set design for the video – Scott in an armchair, next to a lamp and in front of a screen, finding wind after turning on the entertainment system – may be a reference to Maxell’s popular advertisement titled “Blown-away Guy.”
Scott had previously posted a photo showing him with a PS5 controller on Instagram before announcing the partnership.
“Today we are pleased to share with you a unique video, created by Travis to kick off our partnership,” Eric Lempel, PlayStation Senior Vice President, said in the same statement. “Travis is an amazing creator, and we strive to work with the best creative minds within and outside of our industry to continue to amaze the world in a way that only PlayStation can.”
While it’s unclear exactly what this collaboration will entail, some online fans have speculated that the collaboration will involve shoes after viewing the teaser video, which includes a shot of what appear to be Sony PlayStation-branded Nikes.
“I am very grateful and excited to bring my strategic and creative vision to the launch of such an iconic product,” Scott said in the same press release. “I have always been a fan of Playstation and the brand they have built, and this is another example of finding a partner who believes and trusts Cactus Jack to run their brand. This is just the beginning of an incredible partnership.”
Collaborations are nothing new to Scott. In the past, he worked with Reese’s, Fortnite, and Nike.
