A new Resident Evil original animated series is coming to Netflix in 2021. On Sunday, Capcom and Netflix announced Demonic resident: Infinite darkness, which will focus on the series mainstays Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield, as part of the Tokyo Game Show.
Capcom describes Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness as “an original CG anime series” with an action-horror vibe. “By adding suspense to the dynamic action scenes, this series will reveal a world of Resident Evil unlike anything seen before,” Capcom said in its official description of the project. The first trailer in the series doesn’t offer much detail beyond that.
Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness It will be produced and supervised by Capcom’s Hiroyuki Kobayashi, longtime producer of the Resident Evil series and producer of three computer-animated films: Resident Evil: Degeneration, Resident Evil: DamnationY Resident Evil: Vendetta. TMS Entertainment will produce the series, while Quebico will be in charge of producing 3D CG animation.
Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness is one of two Resident Evil projects in development on Netflix. The other, a live action show, will focus on Jade Wesker and Billie Wesker. Presumably, the two are daughters of the STARS captain, the Umbrella Corporation thug, and Resident Evil’s central antagonist Albert Wesker.
