These changes must be made safely and subject to the pilots. “
UK Secretary of Culture Oliver Dowden He said in a statement: “The UK performing arts sector is recognized around the world and I am pleased that we are making real progress in reopening its doors to the public with social distancing. Starting in August, indoor theaters, Music venues and show spaces will be safe, we welcome audiences across the country. “
The government emphasized that “the public, artists and places are expected to maintain social distance at all times.”
Jon Morgan, director of Theaters Trust, called the news “a step in the right direction” but said that “for most theaters it will not be economically feasible to reopen with a 30-40% audience required under social distancing. Now we have to Progress as quickly as possible for a major Stage 5 announcement, allowing theaters to fully reopen with the appropriate security measures – without this most theaters cannot feasibly reopen and we need the go-ahead for Christmas shows, on which the survival of many theaters depends, in the next few weeks at the latest. “
