Emirates will provide free coverage for Covid-19 medical expenses and quarantine costs to passengers


The Gulf Emirates airline has introduced a confidence-building measure for its passengers, as it has begun to provide free coverage for COVID-19 medical expenses and quarantine costs, when they fly to any destination, on any kind of travel. .

Accordingly, the Dubai-based carrier will cover medical expenses of up to EUR 150,000 or Rs 1.3 million rupees and quarantine costs of EUR 100 per day or Rs 8,691.10 for 14 days, in case they are diagnosed with COVID-19 during their journey, while they are away from home.

“This coverage is effective immediately for customers flying in Emirates until October 31, 2020 (first flight to be completed on or before October 31, 2020),” the airline said in a statement.

“It is valid for 31 days from the time you fly the first sector of your trip. This means that Emirates customers can continue to benefit from the additional guarantee of this coverage, even if they travel to another city after arriving at their destination of Emirates. ”

According to the airline, passengers do not need to register or complete any forms before traveling, and they are not required to use this coverage provided by Emirates.

“Any affected customer who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 while traveling simply needs to contact a dedicated hotline for assistance and coverage,” the statement said.

Additionally, the airline said that with the gradual reopening of the borders over the summer, it has revised booking policies to offer customers more flexibility and confidence in planning their trip.

“Customers whose travel plans are disrupted by COVID-19 related flight or travel restrictions can simply retain their ticket, which will be valid for 24 months and rebook to fly later; request travel vouchers to offset future Emirates purchases, or request refunds through an online form on the Emirates website or through your travel booking agent. ”
