Elon Musk: Tesla cars can soon play jazz, lift music from external speakers

Elon Musk on Thursday confirmed that Tesla drivers will soon be able to blow up music from external speakers playing “snake jazz” or “Polynesian lift music.”

The “snake jazz” is an apparent reference to an episode of the TV comic series, Rick and Morty, in which the titular characters encounter a planet of jazz-playing snakes.

It was not immediately clear whether the selections in the car’s computer would be loaded, such as the coupons of the coupe available for the turn signal, or if the occupant of the car could choose their own music. .

Musk already dropped cryptic hints about lift music. On Tuesday he tweeted a video of a SpaceX boat lifting a loadload from the air as it ran to the ocean in a parachute. In a follow-up comment, he tweeted: “Elevator music is underrated.”

The additional feature is one of many that have been touted by Musk. Earlier this year, he shared video of a Model 3 turning a corner as her speaker played the audio clip: “Don’t just be there, hop in.”

“Teslas will soon be talking to people if you want. This is real, “Musk tweeted.

The feature was presumably set to comply with safety regulations requiring electric cars to produce a minimum amount of external noise to warn pedestrians, according to The Verge.
