Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk recently revealed that he is not using the Ethereum blockchain to build anything, and addressed his position on the second-largest cryptocurrency by market cap.
Musk’s comments responded to a tweet posted by famed Hollywood actor William Shatner, who claimed last year that Elon Musk was, along with Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin, “deciding what to build on Ethereum.”
The Canadian actor, known for his role as Captain Kirk in Star Trek, has been an advocate for cryptocurrency for some time, even at one point having released his own non-expendable token (NFT). A year after he tweeted that Musk and Buterin were working on Ethereum, the CEO of Tesla replied.
I am not building anything on ethereum. Not for or against, just don’t use it or own any.
