Grey’s Anatomy fans are ready for Meredith Gray (Ellen Pompeo) to release her TV screens when ABC’s medical drama returns for its 17th season. The Shondaland series was packed with at least 21 episodes last season, after being unexpectedly cut short. This left viewers with a mess of loose strings that need to be tackled when the show returns. Then Pompeo recently posted what’s next for Meredith Grey’s Anatomy Season 17. And their comments will excite any fans.

Meredith had quite the journey in between Grey’s Anatomy Season 16. At the beginning of the new cycle, the main character has consequences for committing insurance fraud. She was sentenced to court-ordered community service. But when she missed a few hours and did not appear in court because Zola was ill, Meredith was sent to prison.
Meredith also nearly lost her medical license. However, she was rescued by her person, Alex Karev (Justin Chambers), who brought in a sea of colleagues and patients who stood in person or in writing for the general surgeon.
Meanwhile, Meredith said goodbye to Alex and she became her own person. Then Meredith and Andrew brought DeLuca (Giacomo Gianniotti) to the romantic front. And even though Mer started flirting with Cristina Yang’s (Sandra Oh) gift, Cormac Hayes (Richard Flood), it’s possible things are not with Andrew.
After her split, Meredith admitted that she still loved Andrew. Then in the Grey’s Anatomy Final of season 16, Meredith accepted McWidow’s offer to get a drink together. Although she notices that Andrew experienced a burglary, Mer helped her ex and took him home.

Of course, Grey’s Anatomy fans have been waiting patiently for news about season 17. Showrunner Krista Vernoff previously announced that the new season will begin production. Although the filming schedule could still be postponed due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Yet it seems the Grey’s Anatomy cast begins to build hype around season 17. On August 5, Pompeo answered a few fan questions and confirmed filming is expected to begin soon. She also shared Debbie Allen (Catherine Fox) has already started “prepping.”
“The plan is to start in a few weeks, but do not have an exact start date, but @msdebbieallen is prepping,” Pompeo wrote on Twitter.
Pompeo then plagued fans with her thoughts on Meredith’s bow Grey’s Anatomy Season 17.
‘I can tell you about Meredith in season 17…. she will be worth the wait, ”tweeted Pompeo.

What happens to Meredith when Grey’s Anatomy coming back for season 17, Pompeo’s comments about her character certainly indicate that it’s worth watching. Meanwhile, other members of the team have shared their thoughts on this upcoming season.
For one, Kevin McKidd (Owen Hunt) who recently shared Owen will “dump a wrecking ball of reality on him.” Kim Raver (Teddy Altman) then suggested that her character should work through the “trauma” in the new season. Vernoff also confirmed Grey’s Anatomy Season 17 will cover the coronavirus pandemic. And while talking to Entertainment Tonight, Gianniotti asked himself how his character would handle the current crisis.
“I think he’s flourishing in chaos and he’s proven that in the past few seasons that when a lot happens, he’s stepped up,” said Gianniotti of Andrew. “It simply came to our notice then. But I think an exciting one where he can really shine and then flourish. ”
Clearly, a lot happens when Grey’s Anatomy Season 17 returns to ABC. But hopefully we can take Pompeo’s word and it’s worth the wait. So stay tuned.
