Tunisian international Ferjani Sassi has become a midfielder for the Zamalek club, close to catching up with the Zamalek mission, in preparation for the Moroccan Raja Casablanca’s match next Sunday in the first leg of the semi-finals of the Liga de African Champions.
Amir Mortada Mansour, supervisor of the Zamalek Club soccer team, announced on the Club Blanco’s official website, yesterday Wednesday, that Ferjani Sassi had been infected with the Corona virus. (See details)
A source from the Zamalek club told “Yallakora” on Thursday that there is a wait for the participation of Ferjani Sassi so far, as the Tunisian international will undergo a new swab to determine his medical position before the Raja game.
The source, who declined to be named, said Jimmy Pacheco, Zamalek’s coach, will determine Sassi’s position following the results of medical tests.
The source indicated that Pacheco favors the participation of Ahmed Syed “Zizou” or Islam Jaber in the next Raja meeting in case of absence of Sassi to participate in the middle of the field with Tariq Hamed.
Ferjani Sassi was suspended for six games at the local level, after being sent off in the Al-Masry Al-Borseidi match, which Zamalek resolved with an unanswered goal within the accounts of week 29.
Zamalek’s team is currently preparing to face Raja after traveling to Morocco last Tuesday, as the first leg of the “Mohamed V” stadium will be played next Sunday.
The return match will be played in Egypt, specifically on the 23rd of this month, as the White Club seeks to transfer the match to the “Cairo Stadium” instead of the “Burj Al Arab” stadium in Alexandria.
