Mustapha Beidoudan can be considered one of the few names that existed with the Moroccan giants Raja and Wydad Casablanca, as the Moroccan striker knew how to immortalize his name in the history of the league, especially after winning the award for top scorer of the competition in three previous occasions.
Despite Baydhan’s professional start with Raja Casablanca, he denied the green team the Moroccan League title in the 2010 edition after scoring the winning goal and the championship against Al-Fateh Rabat.
“Yallakora” contacted the former Moroccan striker to talk to him about his experience in the two giants in Casablanca, as well as his opinion on the chances of Raja and Wedad to compete with the Egyptian goalkeepers Al-Ahly and Zamalek for the title of the African Champions League.
Here are the details of the dialog as follows:
In the beginning, how was your career, especially while you were with Wydad and Raja?
My beginning was as an amateur player in the Association of the Ministry of Finance, then I moved to the Al-Fateh Rabati sports team, and achieved with them the top scorer in the Moroccan League with 17 goals in the season (1999-2000), and then I moved to the Raja Casablanca team. This experience is a success for me, and I crowned them with a drink. The African Confederation and the local championship (Moroccan League), in addition to winning the Moroccan Throne Cup, as well as winning the Arab Cup after beating Enppi in the final, and I also achieved the league’s top scorer twice, specifically in my seasons (2002-2003) (2003-2004). Praise God my experience with Raja A successful experience, then I moved out of Morocco to participate with the Russia Rostov teams and the Saudi Arabia and Tunisian Africa teams, and after my experience with the Africans I moved to Wydad Casablanca and It was an adventure and a challenge for me because the situation is like that of Egypt when I moved to Al-Ahly and left Zamalek, especially since I have close relationships with the hope side. My move to the Wydad put a lot of pressure on me. I played for three years with the friendly team, with which I won the league title in 2010, and we also reached the final of the Arab Cup twice, but we were not lucky against Esperance and ES Setif, Algeria. I am considered one of the few players who succeeded both with Raja and Wydad, and I am grateful to both teams, as I with Raja scored against Wydad, and also with Wydad, I scored against Raja.
Which game do you remember so far and which goal is your greatest value?
Difficult to choose a match. I had crucial matches, especially with Raja. I remember Sudanese Al Hilal’s match in the quarterfinals of the Arab Cup. Hilal was at the time one of the strongest favorites to win the title, especially as he beat Wydad in Morocco, and was able to score four goals against Al Hilal. In Morocco it ended with a score of (5-0) and in the return match at Omdurman it ended with a goalless draw, and this match is well established so far in our minds. As for Wydad, I remember the goal that helped us win the league title, and this game is my last match where hope was higher. We had to qualify before the last round by one point, and fate was out of our hands, so we needed to win while waiting for Raja’s defeat, and praise God, I scored the winning goal against Al-Fateh Sports team. Instead, the Raja team in Rabat was defeated by their opponent, the Royal Army, with an unanswered goal, and we won the title at that time.
How were your matches against Egyptian clubs, specifically against Al-Ahly and Zamalek?
I did not face Zamalek during my career, but I did face Al-Ahly in 2004 in the Arab Cup, which is the starting team, because it is the club of the century, and it was an honor for me to face Al-Ahly, and with Wydad team, I did not write to face Zamalek, but all the appreciation and respect for the old clubs like Al-Ahly and Zamalek for the offers they made. In competitions.
In your opinion, how do you see Wydad and Raja’s competition for the Moroccan League title this season?
Frankly, the competition was strong, especially from the three-way fight for the Moroccan league title between Raja, Wydad and Nahdet Berkane, I think, and in light of the above data, the title would have been decided at the end of the Moroccan League .
From your point of view, can Wydad and Raja challenge Al-Ahly and Zamalek in the Champions League?
The chances are equal between the four teams to get the African title, four teams have a great history on the continent, Al-Ahly is the most crowned team, followed by Zamalek, in addition to the experience and experiences acquired by the Wydad team, Specifically in the last five years achieving the title as well as reaching the final rounds of the African championship, Team Raja also has players who make a difference in addition to having African experience, while Al-Ahly has 8 titles and a great experience in the African championships unlike Zamalek. I think the departure of French Patrice Carteron will be difficult for the team, but the presence of Ashraf Bencharqi and Mohamed Onajem and the possession of the team of distinguished players will contribute to strengthening the team and that is what Lo we saw in the African Super Championship and the victory over Esperance of Tunisia, so it was difficult to determine the closest team not to win the tournament because the matches are difficult for each game.
In your opinion, will Al-Ahly’s contract with Pitso Musimane be useful for the team before Wydad’s signing?
I think any coach will be happy when they have distinguished players, because when the coach has distinguished players, there will be no problem with the coach, perhaps the problem is in creating harmony and I think Al-Ahly players have professionalism in their players to harmonize with the new style and seasonal thinking, also what sets Al-Ahly apart. Professionalism We do not hear, for example, the existence of financial problems in the team and for Musimane, he has African experience and there is no fear for the Al-Ahly team due to the presence of the management and distinguished players.
Do you think what are the main weapons of Al-Ahly and Zamalek against Wydad and Al-Raja?
As for Al-Ahly, I saw some matches. They possess the spirit of the group and their strength in the group, but I see that Walid Suleiman and Junior Ajay can make a difference. In my opinion, the most prominent weapon in Al-Ahly collectively, as for Zamalek, I watched a lot of matches, so the team’s most dangerous weapon is offensive force, starting with Youssef Ibrahim “Obama”. I really like this player, along with the duo Ashraf Bencharki and Mohamed Onajem, who contributed to Wydad crowning the Champions League title earlier, and I also like Zamalek’s midfield, specifically Tunisian Ferjani Sassi, as create spaces for your team and the strength of Zamalek in your group as well.
Zamalek’s situation is no different from Al-Ahly’s due to the appointment of Jimmy Pacheco … your comment?
It is possible that Pacheco will not take over at this stage, and here the most important point is the personality of the players. I think the departure of Patrice Carteron to cooperate (betrayal) because he has great players and left the team, but Zamalek does not represent a coach or a player and also Zamalek has a respectable president and loves the team, which is Mortada. Mansour and I think that Zamalek are not afraid in the case of Mortada Mansour, and the Zamalek players must be mentally present to agree on the new coach’s thinking before facing hope.
Finally … Your expectations Who will be the closest team to winning the Champions League?
As a Moroccan principle, I hope the final will be Moroccan between Wydad and Raja, like you Egyptians, but football is different. We speak with emotion, but it is difficult to predict which team will win because the levels are close between the four teams, and in the end I hope that a Moroccan team will win the title, but the most deserved and worthy and deserving will win the final.
