May Abdel Hamid, executive director of the Social Housing Fund, said that today’s Prime Minister’s meeting discussed the conditions for offering a series of social housing units.
Abdel Hamid added, during a telephone interview with the “On My Responsibility” program on the Sada Al-Balad channel: “125 thousand housing units for social housing will be offered in 10 new cities, including Badr, October, the 10th of Ramadan and the new transit “, explaining that the units available will be in spaces of 75 and 90. Meters, provided that the family income does not exceed 6 thousand pounds.
He explained that around 25 thousand units will be offered in special conditions without support, with areas of 100, 110 and 120 meters, so that the applicant’s income does not exceed 9 thousand pounds, in the interest of the state in complying with the requirements of this segment in obtaining decent housing in new urban communities.
He indicated that the unit will be delivered after 3 years, noting that apartments with reduced spaces will be provided for people with limited resources.
He explained that 335 thousand families, a total of 1.5 million citizens, have benefited from social housing, and commented: “Egypt is implementing the largest social housing project in the world.”
He indicated that the goal is to increase the number of social housing to one million during 2024.
