The Media Center of the Council of Ministers denied what was reported about the postponement of the start of studies at universities for the new academic year 2020-2021.

The Center stated, in the Clarification Report, issued on Friday, that it had contacted the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, which denied the news, confirming that it is not correct to postpone the start date of studies at universities for the new academic year 2020-2021, explaining that the study will begin in all universities on the level of the Republic on the date announced according to the schedule for the academic year 2020-2021, which is scheduled to begin on Saturday, corresponding as of October 17, 2020, taking all precautionary measures and observing the rules of social distancing to limit the spread of the Corona virus, within the framework of ensuring the health and safety of university students. .

In a related context, the Ministry of Higher Education confirmed that the study continues during the first semester for a period of fourteen weeks, ending on Thursday, January 21, 2021, provided that the completion of the first semester exams will take place from Saturday January 23, 2021 until Thursday, February 4, 2021, according to the nature of studies and exams at each university.

The ministry explained that the mid-year holidays begin from Saturday, February 6, 2021 to Thursday, February 18, 2021, provided that studies resume in the second semester, Saturday, February 20, 2021, and continue for a period of sixteen weeks, ending on Thursday, July 10, 2021. The end-of-second-semester exams are taken during the months of June and July 2021, according to the nature of the study and the exams in each school.
