Major General Ashraf Nassar, president of the newly promoted National Bank club to the Egyptian Premier League, spoke about the fate of the team’s technical staff under the leadership of Eid Marazeeq, as well as the club’s position on the inclusion of veteran goalkeeper Essam El -Hadary.
Al-Ahly Bank managed to snatch the qualifying card from the Egyptian Premier League after a draw with Assiut Petroleum in the Upper Egypt group last round match, to qualify the team in direct confrontations with Beni Suef.
During the radio statements for the “Schubert Stadium”, Nassar said: “I thank everyone for the qualification, the coaching staff, the players and everyone who belongs to the National Bank club.”
He added: “Everyone worked hard and did what they wanted. I told the players before the game that we should focus on ourselves without waiting for the results of others.”
Asked about the rumors about the formation of a new technical apparatus, he said: “There is no truth in what was reported. We will hold a session with Eid Marazeeq to conceptualize the next stage, and identify the pros and cons of the past period.
He continued: “Maraziq achieved a historic achievement for the club. It qualified the team from the third division to second last season, and then to excellent.”
Regarding the club’s association with former Egyptian goalkeeper Essam El-Hadary, he said: “El-Hadary is in addition to anywhere, waiting for a session with Marazeeq (the coach) to draw the general lines of the next stage.”
