Team Al-Ittihad Alexandria postponed Al-Ahly’s official coronation of the Egyptian Premier League championship 7 rounds before the end, after forcing him to draw without goals in week 27 of the competition at Alexandria’s Burj Al Arab stadium.
Al-Ahly needed to win to win the Egyptian League title for the 42nd time in its history, but the tie point was not enough.
The draw lifted Al-Ahly’s balance to 72 points at the top of the standings, requiring only one point to resolve his crowning of the league title, in which his closest supporter, Zamalek, scored 52 points , after deducting 3 points from his balance by decision of the Football Association.
Al-Ahly will play clear Egypt at the Cairo Stadium next Saturday, while Zamalek will play 24 hours earlier, as he will face Aswan next Friday at the same stadium.
Al-Ahly can decide to win the league next Friday without playing, especially if Zamalek’s stumbling block against Aswan will put their score at 52 points in the event of a loss and 53 in the event of a draw.
Zamalek’s stumble against Aswan will end his hopes of officially crowning the league championship, as it will become the maximum number of points that can reach 70 or 71 points, which is what Al-Ahly is crowned champion of the competition because his current balance is 72 points.
In the event of Zamalek defeating Aswan, Al-Ahly must defeat Egypt, the clear, to win the league title six rounds before the end.
Al-Ahly may have a draw against Fayoumi’s team, to beat Zamalek in direct confrontations, due to the withdrawal of the white team from the summit last February despite winning in the round of 16 with a scoreboard (3-1) .
Notably, Al-Ahly’s draw against Alexandria’s Al-Ittihad ended the Arab Contractors’ hopes of officially winning the league title, as if coach Imad Al-Nahhas’s team could win the remaining eight games, your score would be 71 points.
