Regarding the investigations carried out by the Egyptian Prosecutor’s Office in the case of the defendant Hanin Hossam, the Chinese ambassador affirmed that the Chinese company Peugeot understands the crime committed against him, and that the judicial decisions handed down against him, and that the Chinese company adheres to all Egyptian legal procedures and to the customs and traditions of Egyptian society, and that all Its function is to provide a platform for social communication, and that it has learned, through investigations conducted by the Public Ministry, of actions that may constitute an offense under Egyptian law, and that it will review what is posted on its platform in the future.

The Prosecutor confirmed to the Chinese ambassador the independence of the Public Ministry in its work, and did not influence it by any external factor, within the framework of Egyptian legal systems to achieve prompt justice, and confirmed that the investigations against the officials of the aforementioned Chinese company are conducted in accordance with the correct law, in light of the distinction between individual responsibility and corporate responsibility. Therefore, no precautionary measures were taken against him, affirming the continuity of the investigations to date.

At the end of the meeting, the Counselor to the Attorney General confirmed the continued cooperation between the embassy and the Attorney General’s Office, and welcomed the joint judicial cooperation with the Chinese Prosecutor’s Office.
