Cybersecurity experts have issued a new warning to Android smartphone users about harmful apps that could put phones at risk.
CyberNews’ team of experts has discovered around 103 applications, all of which pose a shocking threat to Google-compatible phone owners.
According to the new report, it appears that a secret network of 27 app developers has created a slew of apps that could end up causing mayhem on Android devices.
A total of 103 simulated applications were discovered staggeringly downloaded 69 million times.

CyberNews says these apps require a full list of device permissions, including adjusting or removing USB storage, turning the microphone on and off, accessing the camera and photos, and even modifying system settings.
What makes it worse is that these app permissions often have nothing to do with the app’s basic functionality.
“At best, these apps can provide users with a very poor experience, especially when the apps are flooded with ads every time they navigate,” said senior researcher Bernard Meyer of CyberNews.
