French coach Hubert Velod, coach of the Sudanese soccer team, was attacked by a member of the refereeing team during his team’s match against Ghana.
The Sudanese team, under the first leadership of French Philoud, faces Ghana today, Thursday, in the tie of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, in Group Three.
The fourth official hit Sudanese coach Velod in the 37th minute when he was asked to take a penalty for his team after a friction between the Ghanaian defender and the Sudanese striker.
The fourth official, the Senegalese Mocabi, pushed the coach of the Sudan national team during his objection to the match, to drop him to the ground in an unfortunate scene that occurs for the first time, amid the astonishment of the players and the technical equipment of the two teams.
The Sudanese team is third in the Group C standings with 3 points, while Ghana leads with 6 points.
