The Public Ministry ordered the detention of three defendants for four days, and the release of another three if each of them paid a financial bond of 100,000 pounds and another with a bond of their place of residence, pending investigation of the facts in which they were charged as a result of the ongoing investigations for the incident of assaulting a girl in a hotel. And the “Public Ministry” calls on everyone to stick to the data it issues on that incident and all the facts related to it, and not to disseminate information or news about it that are inaccurate or unreliable from its sources. In order to guarantee the integrity of the investigations, the results of which will be announced by the “Public Ministry” once they are completed.

Since August 5, the Prosecutor’s Office has begun to investigate the incident of some people sexually assaulting a girl inside the “Fairmont Nile City” hotel in Cairo, after receiving on August 4 a letter from the National Council of Women attaching a complaint filed by the victim and some information from some witnesses about the event

After 25 days of investigations, the Public Ministry ordered the arrest of two defendants pending investigation in the case and ordered the arrest and transfer of another 7 who had fled.

And at the end of last July, the hashtag “Vermont Crime” reached the social network Twitter, where hundreds of tweeters shared a story that the Assault Police Instagram account reported to a girl who said she was raped in 2014 within the Hotel Vermont after being drugged with GHB, rendering her unconscious. And that they were photographed during the assault on her in addition to engraving letters of their names on her body and threatening her if she decided to report them.

The management of the Fairmont Nile City Hotel announced that the hotel is aware of and is following what is circulating on social media regarding the rape incident, which may have occurred at the hotel during a special ceremony for one of the event organizers and parties in 2014.

The hotel added, in a statement posted on its Twitter account, that “ immediate communication was made between the hotel staff and the groups responsible for this news to provide assistance and support, since one of our main priorities is to maintain the safety of our guests and colleagues ”, confirming its commitment to help the authorities and the authorities concerned.
