Today Tuesday, several areas in Greater Cairo are witnessing interruptions in drinking water for periods ranging from 6 hours to 18 full hours due to maintenance work or diversion of the water line.
Today, Tuesday, 11 areas of Cairo are witnessing an 18-hour interruption in drinking water, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday, due to the execution of development works in the Ain Shams area. , resulting in a deviation of the water line of 1000 mm in diameter, according to Announced by the governorate of Cairo.
The governorate indicated that the Potable Water Company confirmed that the areas affected by the water cuts are (outside of Al-Matariyah – Al-Masala and its branches – Jubian and its branches – Ibrahim Abdel-Razek Street and its branches – District of Al-Alf Maskan – Heikstep District – New Nozha) for a period of 18 hours from 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday to 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday, due to the fact that the Armed Forces Engineering Authority is carrying out urbanization works in Ain Shams, which would involve diverting the route of the 1000 mm waterline.
The Cairo Drinking Water Company called on bakery and hospital owners to manage their water needs during the aforementioned period, noting that drinking water carts will be provided in the affected areas, and if requested, please call the 125 direct line from the landline.
On the other hand, the Potable Water and Sewerage Company in Qalyubia announced that the potable water of the city and the center of Toukh was cut off, for a period of 6 hours, from 11 pm today Tuesday until 5 am tomorrow Wednesday.
The company clarified, in a statement, that the interruption was due to technical works belonging to the executive body in Qalyubia, in the second phase of the water plant named Abadala.
The company called on citizens and owners of bakeries and hospitals to attend to their water needs during the aforementioned period, and the company provides drinking water carts in the affected areas, if requested, call line 125 from the telephone permanent.
