Walid Hassan, Vice President of Umbro, a company designed for Al-Ahly clothing, confirmed that the team will play its FIFA Club World Cup matches in the same current jersey and that there is no intention to change it.
In an exclusive statement to Laila Kora, Hassan indicated that Amir Tawfiq, Marketing Director of Al-Ahly Club, traveled to the Emirates for choosing only training clothes.
Hassan said: “Al-Ahly plays the World Cup matches in the same new and current jersey, and it will not be changed at the FIFA Club World Cup.”
He continued: “Amir Tawfiq’s trip to the Emirates will only be about choosing training clothes and just going out, but the match jersey is arranged as is and will not be changed due to lack of time.”
He explained: “We cannot make a new jersey for Al-Ahly’s matches at the World Cup, because the manufacturing cycle lasts from eight months to a full year.”
He added: “The time difference between Al-Ahly who crowns the African Champions League until the start of the Club World Cup is only 60 days, for example, so it is difficult to make a shirt for matches.”
He concluded: “We are trying to do something different and new now for the training and departure teams, and they will be completely different from the current teams. Tawfiq will travel to Dubai this week to select the new teams.”
