Three lawyers representing President Donald Trump’s campaign asked to withdraw from their lawsuit against the results of the US elections in Pennsylvania, destabilizing their legal team ahead of a major court hearing.

Attorneys Linda Kearns, John Scott and Douglas Brian Hughes filed the request with the court on Monday and said the campaign had agreed to their withdrawal.

In a short order Monday night, the judge who heard the case allowed Scott and Hughes to withdraw, but not Cairns.

Attorney Mark Scarringi has joined the case and will be Trump’s senior adviser. Scaringe and the three lawyers who tried to withdraw did not respond to requests for comment.

On Monday, Scarringi asked the judge to postpone the hearing scheduled for Tuesday, saying he and his partner “need more time to prepare properly.” The judge quickly rejected the request.

Gina Ellis, legal adviser for the Trump campaign, said the change was routine.

The attorneys’ request did not provide a reason for the change, which came days after famed law firm Porter Wright Morris & Arthur withdrew from the case.
