NASA said Tuesday that famous actor Tom Cruise is cooperating with her to shoot a movie in space.

“NASA is excited to be working with Tom Cruise on a movie on the International Space Station,” NASA Director Jim Braidenstein said on Twitter.

“We need the media to inspire a new generation of engineers and scientists to realize NASA’s ambitious plans,” he added.

Braidenstein did not provide any details, but the tweet was released after a report from the Deadline website saying Cruz is working with Tesla and businessman Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX, on a motion picture project that will be the first feature film filmed in the space.

The website said Monday that the proposed thriller project is still in its early stages.

Cruz’s representatives did not respond to a request for comment.

Cruz, 57, the hero of the “Mission Impossible” movie series “Mission Impossible,” is known for portraying dangerous scenes in his films. Cruz drove fighter jets in his next movie, “Top Gun: Maverick” and held onto a plane taking off from the ground in the 2015 movie “Mission Impossible Rogue Nation” “Mission Impossible: A Rogue Nation” and climbing the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, the tallest building in the world, within the events of his film.
