Today, Tuesday, the second round of the 2020 Egypt Senate elections begins, after the National Electoral Authority announced that 74 seats have been decided for individual seats in the first round of the elections, and a second round will be held for another 26 seats. , with a total of 52 contestants, in 14 governorates, and will last for two days today Tuesday. And tomorrow Wednesday.

Major General Mahmoud Shaarawi, Minister of Local Development, ordered the opening of the crisis management and operations room at the ministry to follow up on the second round elections for the Senate, which will begin in a two-day period, and to coordinate with all the operating rooms of the provinces and the central operating room in the Council of Ministers.

Shaarawi said that the state of maximum preparedness has been lifted for all executive agencies, neighborhoods, centers, cities and local units in the governorates that are witnessing the second round.

He stressed that the task of the governorates is to provide a safe and appropriate environment and all means of comfort for citizens to cast their vote, and those in charge of the electoral process from the supervisors and judges.

The Minister of Local Development also ordered that the heads of neighborhoods, cities and centers intensify cleaning, waste removal, occupations and disinfection and sterilization operations in the vicinity of the electoral commissions during the voting days to exit the electoral process honorably.

And the seats to play in the second round are the following:

Qalyubia 1, Menoufia 2, Kafr El Sheikh 2, Giza 1, Beni Suef 1, Assiut 3, Sohag 5, Qena 3, Luxor 2, Aswan 2, Damietta 1, Port Said 1, Ismailia 1, Matrouh 1.
