The governorate of Alexandria evacuated a 12-story property in the Kom al-Shuqafa area in the western neighborhood of residents and personal property, after a 50 cm incline occurred, which threatened the lives of citizens and the safety of the neighboring properties.

For her part, Sahar Shaaban, head of the West Alexandria neighborhood, explained that the property was built in 2014 with a height of 10 stories, but that the owner of the property in 2017 built two more stories in violation of the law, without taking into structural safety counts.

Shaaban indicated that the property had a 20 cm incline about a year ago, and its residents refused to implement the neighborhood’s decision to evacuate quickly, and decided to stay on the property under their personal responsibility, and did not take any serious action to repair the property.

The head of the Western District added that the property had a steep incline without warning, reaching 50 cm this week and its floor was cracked, which required immediate intervention and the forced evacuation of residents to preserve their lives and protect homes. surrounding.
