A spokesman for the Public Security Police, which opened an investigation, told AFP that “Cristiano Ronaldo’s apartment was attacked on Wednesday morning,” without providing further information.

The suspect, who could be identified and pursued by the police, took advantage of the garage door, which was open during the maintenance process, to assault the building, according to the Madeira daily “Diario de Noticias”.

The Juventus forward’s apartment is on the top floor of the building where many of his relatives live. Ronaldo and his family remained there for several weeks last March, after discovering a positive case of the emerging coronavirus in the “old woman’s” team.

The thief stole the Juventus shirt, which bears the signature of the Portuguese captain, and its value is estimated at 200 euros and some economic things. The local newspaper reported that the police managed to identify the suspect thanks to the images captured by the surveillance cameras.

Ronaldo played a friendly match against Spain in Lisbon on Wednesday night, which ended in a goalless draw, and is preparing to face France at the “Stade de France” in Paris on Sunday, before hosting Sweden in Lisbon on Wednesday in the second edition of the European League of Nations.
