Today marks the anniversary of the death of the skilled artist Majida Al-Khatib, who left our world on this day, December 16, 2006, after falling into a coma as a result of acute pneumonia.
Al-Khatib began his journey with art in the 1960s, managed to capture their attention, worked with top art stars in the Arab world, participated in almost 55 works and won many awards.
Magda Al-Khatib is considered one of the artists whose life has covered a lot, both professionally and personally, she has been subjected to many bitter experiences and tribulations, so we review the most outstanding stations of her life in the following lines:
In 1982, Magda Al-Khatib went through a bitter experience, as she spent 8 months in a reserve prison pending trial on the charge of accidentally killing a young man while driving, and the court sentenced her to a prison term of one year with suspension and a fine of 5000 EGP.
During the “Without Knowledge” program, Magda Al-Khatib spoke with journalist Tareq Habib about the possibility of transforming her life story into a cinematographic work. He said: “There is nothing to object to the artist embodying his personal experience if he deserves it, and being presented to the viewer in a respectable art form that suits his age and point of view. And she continued: “The first day I entered jail was the most difficult day of my life because I had transformed from an honorable citizen to an outlaw, but what was relieved by this bitter reality were the companions in prison, who treated like a big movie star. “
In 1985, she went through the same experience when she was arrested for drug abuse and the court sentenced her to 5 years in prison, but she was forced to flee out of the country until she lost her sentence.
There is another crisis in which the artist Magda Al-Khatib entered and occupied the public opinion at that time, which is the crisis of her fight with the late actress Hayat, in 1997 Magda Al-Khatib was participating in the tournament of the work of theater “Oh IO you” in front of several stars, and Hayat, who was also the producer of the play and in one of the scenes that brought them together, a violent dispute arose between them, which the public thought was part of the facts of the work, but came to be beaten after Hayatum reached her and inflicted bruises and wounds on her and broke Magda Al-Khatib’s leg.
After that, the hearing found out that it was a real dispute, and the theater officials returned the ticket price to the hearing, and the witnesses, Hayatam and Majida went to the “Azbakeya” police station to write a report on the incident.
Al-Khatib stated, as published at the time in the Al-Jumhuriya newspaper, that he had hired to work on the play “Oh, me, you” with Hayat, the heroine and producer of the play, and that he would do the role of director for a monthly salary of 25 thousand pounds, provided that he receives half of the amount every 15 days. , Since the beginning of the show.
In a previous interview with the media, Mona Al-Husseini, Hayat told the program “A very frank dialogue” behind her disagreement with Majida Al-Khatib, confirming that the latter was the one who attacked her and that what happened on her side it was just a reaction.
In 2006, Majida Al-Khatib became seriously infected, at which time she also discovered that she had kidney failure and was put on a respirator until she died on December 16, 2006.
