For his part, Dr. Evan Houten, Director of the Communicable Diseases Department of the Regional Office of the World Health Organization, said Egypt is doing a great job, considering that Egypt has a critical opportunity now to effectively control the spread of the disease before moving from the current situation to a community transition.

Previously, Egypt’s Minister of Health and Population, Hala Zayed, said at a press conference that the ministry had conducted 25,000 tests for the Corona virus.

She pointed out to Zayed that Egypt depends from the start on the same drugs that countries, including France and the United States, have resorted to in treating people infected with the coronavirus, indicating that they are “old drugs” used to treat the patients with malaria and HIV, and other diseases.
